Love in a backpack

I have recently been burdened by the number of children in my classroom/school that go home without food on the weekends. Attic Annie's blog has some sad statistics on hunger in children. There is also a shor
t backpack video. My aunt and her small group started stuffing backpacks a few months ago for our school. I thought it was a great idea and I wanted to see this program in more schools. We have a long way to go and still need help on organizing and figuring out how to do it more effectively. Here are a few pics of what we did sunday night. Over 29 back
packs were sent out this week. Around 130 people in the south hall area will have food because of faithful givers. I am very thankful for Todd Robson's small group for providing food and backpacks.

  1. my cousin, who lives in acworth, actually has a great organization she has started which does the backpacks for kids and more. it's called "a fresh hope." they have really done some amazing work in the area. it may be far from you, but it still might be something of interest for you. if you google that, you'll see the website and blog.
