There is joy in the chaos

Woke up this morning to read a few blogs and ran across this. It is being sold on etsy at Tag your it jewelry. I don't think I saw this by accident. So many times I need to shut my brain off from all that is going on around me, this reminded me just to relish in it and go along for the ride. We are moving to San Francisco for two great opportunities. Matthew is working for an amazing company called Vertigo and we are helping plant Epic Church. My brother in law, Ben has had a huge heart for church planting as long as I have know him. I remember hearing the news 18 months about how God had put SF in their hearts. I was extremely excited for them and had begun praying for them and the people that they would share Jesus with. I also remember another conversation with my sister when I told her Matthew had an amazing interview opportunity. When he accepted the job, she said "this is what we prayed for." She had been praying and still is praying for God to send people out to the city to help with the church start. My response was "Well that is great, but we were never sup. to be those people." From that point on I would say I am trying to find joy in the chaos. We have tons to sell: a house, furniture, belongings, a car, etc. I also have a classroom to pack up. Yesterday, Matthew got a call from Vertigo asking him to come out earlier then his projected start date. June 1. I just reminded myself...Joy in the chaos. We will be driving cross country in 13 days. I already booked my flight to come back home. Matthew will stay and I will come back to Georgia. Ella will be having the time of her life during our cross country trek at Mimi and Pops house. That is all I know. I am learning to live day by day. This is very hard for me. So for now, We are praying daily for our house to sell, enjoying the chaos, and living in the moment.

  1. Katie,
God has opened up this door of opportunity I am so excited for you. On the radio this morning they were talking about choices and how you respond to every day and every situation is a choice. I am proud of you for making the choice to find the joy in the middle of the chaos. Hugs!

  4. Amazing!!! I loved San Francisco! How awesome that God is giving you an opportunity to go out to new territory with your sister as automatic bonus friend! It helps the transition to have some familiar with you! I know who to visit in the next year for sure :)
